District Governor Marty Schulman has announced that Past President Garrett Capobianco of the Scarsdale Rotary Club has been selected by the District Nominating Committee to be the District Governor for our District for the Rotary Year 2025-26.  Upon his selection, Garrett assumed the position of District Governor Nominee Designee.  On 1 July 2023, he became the District Governor Nominee.  The following year he will be the District Governor Elect and taking over as Governor on 1 July 2025.
 
Garrett was a volunteer firefighter in the Scarsdale Fire Department from 1985 to 2018, becoming Captain from 1995 to 1997. He joined the Rotary Club of Scarsdale in 2015 and became President in 2020 having to transition from in-person to virtual activities due to the pandemic.  He was certified by NYS as an EMT in 1989.
 
Following his selection, Garrett stated: "The principles and disciplines instilled in me by my immigrant family, both paternal and maternal, and a lifetime of Municipal Fire Service experience, combined with the guidance and assistance.of the powerful Rotarians with whom I find myself surrounded, will provide me with the tools to promote and elevate our District 7230."
