DG Mahbub has announced that the number of Rotaract Clubs in the District has doubled in the last 4 months from 4 to 8.  The newest Club - the Rotaract Club of Chappaqua was charted by Rotary International on 5 March. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Chappaqua, the new Club has 9 members.  Just one week ago, Bermuda received the Charter for its first new Rotaract Club the Rotaract Club of Bermuda sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sandys.
 
Earlier on 31 December the Rotaract Club of  Peekskill officially received its charter, while the 5th Rotaract Club of the District - the first new Rotaract Club established this Rotary year - the Rotaract Club of Staten Island was chartered on November 4 2019, jointly sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of North Shore and South Shore.
 
Rotaract activities in the District have been boosted by the formation of these 4 new Clubs and the election of the District Rotaract Representative (DRR).  Emelia Guzman of the Rotaract Club at the UN is the DRR for the current Rotary Year, while Faith Forde of the Rotaract Club of Manhattan will the DRR for 2020-21.  Congratulations to both Emelia and Faith.
 
District Rotaract Chair Jahnbaz Almas has worked closely with the sponsor Clubs in helping set up the new Clubs. The new DRRs will be the District Rotaract Committee Co-Chairs during their respective terms.
