  • PRINT DIRECTORY UPDATE - As promised, Assistant Governor Sandy Wolstein and her team are nearly finished with a printed directory, which will be available by October 15th. AG Sandy asked me to relay two messages:  (1) all club presidents who have not uploaded on ClubRunner or e-mailed her a camera-ready photo, please do so by Wednesday, September 9, 2020, or there will be a blank rectangle in place of your smile; and (2) there is still ad space available ($200/full-page). Questions? Contact AG Sandy @ sewolstein@optonline.net.
  • MATCHING POINT CHALLENGE UPDATE - As promised, the Rotary International Data Team completed the transfer of matching Foundation Recognition Points on August 28th. Thanks to your generosity, we raised $28,000 for the Annual Fund during our June Giving Campaign.  That's $14,000 coming back to District 7230 for grants toward YOUR PROJECTS in 2022-23! A special shout-out to the Rotary E-Club of Wall Street (15,000 points!) and District 7230 Executive Secretary Taylor Eskew for joining me in providing the matching Foundation Recognition Points!  THANK YOU!
  • DISTRICT GRANT APPLICATION DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 15TH - Speaking of grants, District Rotary Foundation Chair Lora Hugelmeyer and District Grants Subcommittee Chair David Schribman asked me to remind you that the district-grant application deadline is Tuesday, September 15, 2020. For further details, review the updated materials found on the District 7230 website @ http://www.rotary7230.org/page/district-grants.
  • DISTRICT WILL E-MAIL DUES INVOICE TO CLUB TREASURERS BY SEPTEMBER 25TH - District 7230 Treasurer Michael Marx will e-mail District 7230 dues invoices for June - December 2020 to club treasurers on or before September 25, 2020.  As approved by club presidents-elect at our last Annual Business meeting, per capita dues are $43.75/Rotarian. Treasurer Michael will apply a per capita rebate of $12.30/Rotarian from the Rotary Year 2019-20 operating-budget surplus and give clubs a $300 refund from last year's PETS assessment.  NOTE:  Last year's club presidents approved the reduction of the Rotary Year 2019-20 operating-budget surplus by over $25,000 in order to fully fund COVID-19-related emergency grants. Going forward, District 7230 will bill on a semi-annual basis, in keeping with standard Rotary International practice. Expect another invoice in early 2021, with a PETS assessment that better reflects probable registration fees and a small remaining rebate calculated after our outside auditor completes his work. Treasurer Michael has been working with our outside auditor to complete the audit and file a timely IRS 990 form. Treasurer Michael will have both documents ready for the next Budget & Finance Committee meeting on October 26, 2020.

PHEW! BE WELL, STAY SAFE DEAR FRIENDS IN ROTARY!

Yours in Rotary Service,
DG Mary
