The Rotary Club of Yonkers-East Yonkers is pleased to distribute a number of LifeVac anti-choking devices to public-facing businesses and organizations in Yonkers, at no cost to the recipient, thanks to a generous grant from Westchester County.  LifeVac units will be distributed to eligible organizations on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last, so that they can be used to protect the public in an emergency.

"These devices are designed to help save a life in the event of a choking emergency and provide an added layer of safety for residents, seniors, and visitors alike. Initiatives like this truly make Yonkers a safer and more caring community," said Mayor Mike Spano.

Each package includes not only a device but provides training on how the device is to be used.  In addition, it also comes with a LifeVac sticker for the establishment's window and a flyer with a QR code to improve awareness of Yonkers Rotary Club.

A press conference to announce the program was held on Thursday, January 29th at Yonkers City Hall.  Rotary Club President Alan Gray, Jr. spoke first, along with Ryan Warner from LiveVac, Mayor Mike Spano and County Legislator & Rotarian Shanae Williams.  DG Garrett Capobianco and DGN Serkan Ceylan were also present.  The press conference at Yonkers City Hall can be viewed by clicking here.
