75 Years of Action: Rotary & The United Nations

This first ever multi-District-led occasion will be joined by a global audience, feature notable service projects and offer “behind-the-scenes" talks with leaders from the United Nations and the Rotary world. The event will encourage communities to seize opportunities for action in support of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Expected highlights:

  • Special interview with Téa Leoni, actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador
  • United Nations welcoming by Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General António Guterres
  • Rotary members and leaders including RIPN Jennifer Jones, RID/Incoming RIVP Valarie Wafer, Past TRF Trustee Carolyn Jones, & First Rotary Club President Sylvia Whitlock
  • Call-to-Actions by representatives of various United Nations Offices and Agencies
  • Spotlights on Rotary/Rotaract/Interact service projects that support the Sustainable Development Goals

This event is led by Rotary District 7230, in partnership with Rotary District 1990 and Rotary District 2080, and Rotary District 9212- each home of unique United Nations Agencies and Offices in New York City, Geneva, Rome, Nairobi and Addis Ababa. Together, we are celebrating worldwide the shared values of Rotary and the United Nations.
